There is also another way by which you can download any version of avast antivirus (after avast 2015). You also get the free Avast Password manager installed in the Avast Secure browser and avast safe zone browser. You can buy the premium version depending upo your needs. I only want it to lock when I shut down or restart the computer. Avast password extension is absolutely free to use. Refer to the relevant instructions below to install Avast Passwords on your device. As for settings I do not want to have passwords locked automatically after a given period of time or after each time I close the web browser. Avast Passwords is a password and data manager that allows you to securely store sensitive information in one place, and enables you to quickly fill in web forms and access your online accounts. Please help me understand if there is something I am doing wrong. Is this how it is supposed to work or is there a bug? It seems to me that no matter which boxes are checked in settings, it SHOULD unlock the passwords after I enter the master password, but it does not. I went to settings and all boxes were still unchecked, so I checked a box and unchecked it, and THEN it opened all the passwords. It was unlocked when I rebooted the PC this morning so as an experiment I clicked the LOCK button and password display turned to the screen with the UNLOCK button, so I clicked the button and then typed in my master password and hit the enter key and it does not unlock, it just switches back from the text field to the Unlock button. So I looked at the settings again and all the boxes are unchecked, which one should be checked if I want to have to enter the master password every time the computer is rebooted? So if I leave all the boxes unchecked it is open all the time and I never have to enter my master password even when the PC is started or restarted. After the first update it would not unlock at all until I opened the settings and unchecked all the boxes, and then it opened. Maybe I don't know how to use it and need instructions? It used to require me to enter my master password every time I reboot the PC, I just had to click on the UNLOCK button, type in the master password and hit the Enter key and it would unlock all the passwords. Since the latest update to Avast Passwords in the Privacy module is not working like it used to. Please tell me if the post should be made in the other forum or move it there if you are a moderator with the powers to do so. I am not sure if this topic should be in this forum or the Avast Passwords forum but since this is a feature of Avast Free Antivirus for Windows I am posting it here.
